The Leofoto PG-3SL is a high-quality gimbal tripod head for photographers who want to work with long and heavy telephoto lenses in a precise, controlled and fatigue-free manner. The PG-3SL really comes into its own in wildlife, bird, sports and nature photography: once the camera and objective are properly balanced, moving subjects can be tracked smoothly without the setup working against the objective’s own weight.
The construction, made of multi-layer carbon fibre and precision-machined aluminium components, combines high stability with low weight. This makes the PG-3SL suitable not only for stationary use in the studio or at an observation point, but also for mobile photographers who need to carry their equipment over long distances.
The Arca-Swiss-compatible quick-release plate allows for secure and flexible mounting of telephoto lenses using a tripod collar, lens feet or compatible Arca plates. The centre of gravity can be precisely adjusted via the sliding platform and the height-adjustable camera rest. The engraved scales help you quickly locate balance points once they have been found – handy when switching between camera bodies, teleconverters or different lenses.
For precise control, the PG-3SL features separate controls for pan, tilt, platform lock and quick-release clamp. The 360° pan base allows for smooth horizontal panning, whilst the tilt axis enables controlled vertical movement. The ergonomic carbon handle supports smooth movements and can be used on the left or right depending on your working style.
